Throughout history, our ancestors have ascribed some pretty "creative" attributes to amethyst. Ancient Greeks believed wearing it or drinking out of an amethyst cup would prevent intoxication. Amethystos means “not drunk” in Ancient Greek. Among my favorite is being a blemish remover - just add moisture!
While these myths are really fun, I’d rather wear amethyst than drink out of it!
The most prized exhibit an intense reddish purple (known as “raspberry”). Colors can range from pale lilac to bluish purple to dark purple.
