About This Design

Debra Navarro’s alluring aquamarine necklace is named after Ibra, symbolizing the future opportunities that await the next generation of East Africa - educational and entrepreneurial!

Like many of Debra’s jewelry “ingredients”, this stone was selected by her from artisanal miners in East Africa.

Aquamarine can occur in a range of blue hues, including this striking seafoam hue! Debra adds a single (or sometimes two) flat facet called a “Tenda” cut. Visually and literally this is where the magic is!

Best of all, 5% of proceeds from the Watu collection benefit Gem Legacy. This 501(c)3 supports education, vocational training, and local economies in East African mining communities. This includes women entrepreneurs who own and operate mines!
